Correct. There's a free Individual account, a metered Business account, and a free OSS / Non-Profit account. Business and OSS accounts share the full feature set. The Individual account is intentionally limited: 10 probes, email alerts only, and 3 months of history. The Business account charges per probe and per teammate so the bill scales with usage, not with which checkbox you ticked.

The free Individual account includes every monitoring type (HTTP, ping, TCP/UDP, mail service, SSL certificate, domain registration), 60-second probe intervals, a status page, scheduled reports, and email alerts. It is limited to 10 probes and 3 months of history. Business and OSS accounts unlock the full feature set including team members, API access, all notification integrations, and 12 months of history.

You pay a fixed amount per probe per month plus a fixed amount per teammate per month. No minimum charge, no annual commitment. Pause or resume probes any time and the bill follows. SMS alerts are pay-as-you-go on top so you only pay for the messages you actually send.

From a global network of probe locations across multiple regions and cloud providers. You can pick which regions a given probe runs from, which is useful for cross-verifying checks and avoiding alerts caused by a single bad route.

Yes. Cancel from your account and billing stops at the end of the current usage period. No exit fee, no retention call, no clawback of historical data while the account stays open.
